D.I.Y Ombre Rainbow Nails!

Hey Lovelies!

Today I have sported to Ombre look...but on my nails.

Here is how I achieved the look :)

What you will need:
*Nail Varnish Remover
*Cotton pads and Cotton buds
*Base Coat and Top Coat
*The colours you wish to use for the Ombre (in this case I chose three, but you can use as many as you like!!)
*A small piece of sponge.

Step 1: Remove all unwanted nail varnish and dirt from your nails, file and neaten up if needed,

Step 2: Apply one layer of base coat to your nails, this makes you nail varnish last longer and acts as a protective barrier and stops the nail varnish from staining your natural nail. The base coat I recommend is OPI Natural nail base coat ( £10 ish )

Step 3: With the colours you have chosen for the effect, paint them on to the piece of sponge, slightly blending them into each other. The sponge I used in this tutorial is a bit I cut of from a large yellow household sponge (unused obviously) and it is about the width of two fingers. This allows you to enough sponge to mess with when pressing it onto your nail.

Step 4: Starting from one side of the nail lightly press down and slowly work your way across in one swoop. Without taking the sponge off your nail. Once applied your nails will look bubbly....this can look fun when your lucky, but if your not convinced...follow step 5! You will get nail varnish all over your fingers when doing this technique so be prepared with your remover and cotton buds to get to all the tricky places to neaten up your nails.

Step 5: To touch up the bubbly bits on your nails take the colours and lightly dab them on to your painted bits to create a bit more of a block colour. Try not to do it too much as this takes the whole effect of Ombre away and you may as well of just painted stripes across your nails!

Step 6: Once your happy with the result apply a thin layer of top coat. This will seal in all the colour, add an amazing shine and prevent chipping. The best one I have ever used is O.P.I Top Coat (again £10 ish).

Tadddaaaaaaa.....there you go...D.I.Y Ombre Nails!
Have a go your self and see what you think.
